Swim for the Environment – Plymouth’s Blue Mile 2.0
Plymouth’s Blue Mile 2.0 event, takes place on August 29th – 30th at Mountbatten. The new course will fit neatly on the northern side of Mountbatten Breakwater. The event will include the 1-mile swim, but will also offer a shorter, entry-level course. There also be Duo, a new 2-mile course for those that want to swim and paddle. It’s a family, spectator, and dog-friendly course, so you can invite them along to cheer you along every stroke of the way.

For those who use Strava, you can join their Blue Mile Club and share your blue miles and swim experiences with them remotely.
The brainchild of athletes who cared deeply about our ‘blue’ environment, the event was was launched in London in 2009. The ambition being to create an event that would inspire thousands of people to swim for their environment. Since then Blue Mile events have taken place all around the country. Plymouth’s first Blue Mile took place in 2012.
