A brief history of Movie Group

Yourway Movie Group

Movie Group is run on a voluntary basis by Colin Hughson, a Team Leader, who has been with Yourway for the past ten years. Whilst supporting became aware that some people began organising these events when he joined Yourway ten years ago. Colin came up with the idea of a Movie Group whilst supporting customers. He recognised some people were anxious about going to the cinema alone, especially in the winter months.

Colin suggested we set up a group for people who love going to the movies. Initially, offered to customers, the group has grown significantly over the years. The group also offers social activties such as ‘movie’ quiz nights and recently had a ghost trip at Reel Cinema! It’s a great way to: build confidence, develop independence skills, reduce isolation, meet new people and make friends in a safe enviroment

Colin’s passion for film began when he regularly went to watch movies with his mum. Colins commitment embodies what we at Yourway do – which is ‘supporting people live the life they choose’
